Spa-Swimming pool Poukama
Poukama Swimming Hall closed for renovations on Epiphany. The estimated duration of the renovation is approximately 10 months.
The renovation work mainly focuses on renewing the building services systems. The project includes the replacement of, among other things, the ventilation and lighting systems, as well as the drainage system and yard-area water management. In addition, the waterproofing and thermal insulation of the building’s underground basement walls will be renewed. Yard-area work also includes resurfacing. The swimming hall will receive a refreshed appearance, including a new entrance canopy and renovated bathing and sauna facilities. A cold-water pool will be added to the pool area. Information about the reopening of Poukama for customers will be provided as the work progresses.
Replacement group exercise classes and gym facilities will be arranged at the Sports Hall (Särkeläntie 8–10). Some group exercise classes will also be held at the youth facilities next to the library. Information about these classes can be found on the Sports Services website in the exercise calendar. Participation in the classes listed in the exercise calendar requires €2 instructor tickets, which can be purchased at the Sortteeri service point (Vapaudenkatu 8; no cash accepted).
The Sports Hall is open on weekdays from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The entrance fee of €2.50 can be paid in cash at the payment machine; other payment methods are being investigated. At other times, access requires an electronic access key (€15), which can be purchased during the renovation at the Sortteeri service point (Vapaudenkatu 8).
Due to the renovation, interrupted swimming season passes will be extended by a period corresponding to the length of the interruption once the swimming hall reopens. Gym memberships will not be extended, as gym facilities are available at the Sports Hall during the renovation. Additional workout stations have been arranged at the Sports Hall to ensure sufficient capacity for all gym users. All swimming and gym multi-visit passes will remain valid after the renovation

SWIMMING POOL, GYM AND CAFÉS OPEN:
- Mondays and Fridays 11:00 – 19:00
- Tuesday – Thursday 7:00 – 20:30 (morning swim 7:00 – 9:00)
- Saturdays and Sundays 11:00 – 18:00
- Use of the gym from 05.00 to 23.00 by purchasing an annual pass (180€) and an electronic key (15€)
The pool areas will be closed half an hour before the hall closes!
The swimming pool is closed every year:
- On New Year’s Day 1.1.
- During Easter, the hall is closed on Monday, but is open Fri-Sun 11.00-18.00.
- On May Day 1.5.
- Helatorstaina.
- During Midsummer the hall is closed Friday – Sunday.
- Independence Day 6.12.
- During Christmas 24.12. – 25.12. hall closed, 26.12. hall open 11.00 – 18.00
The equipment in the gym is also suitable for older people. A treadmill is installed in the gym, which is identical to the equipment in the lower gym.
The pool areas are closed:

- Tuesday – Thursday at 20:00
- Saturdays and Sundays at 17:30
The hall has:
- fitness pool 10 m x 25 m
- teaching pool / slide 28 m
- wading pool
- play pool
- a therapy pool with excellent hydro-massage equipment
- steam room
- saunas 4 saunas
- 2 gyms in the village hall, including equipment based on hydraulic and bi-directional adjustable resistance (suitable for use by elderly people, for example)
- snacks and refreshments from the café/wet coffee shop
Access to the gyms is included in the ticket price.
The swimming pool is home to the Therapy Oasis, where massage and zone therapy services are available.
